Douwe Linders is a seasoned litigator and head of the SOLV litigation team. Driven, sharp, strategically strong and with a fighting spirit. Douwe specialises in IT law, intellectual property law, media and entertainment law and e-commerce. He is an acclaimed expert on copyright and database law. He has extensive experience in software licensing disputes and cases concerning film and television productions, audiovisual media services and collective management.

Douwe advises clients on the legal aspects of online intermediaries and publishes frequently on the topic.

2020: representing a software company in the seizure of evidence and in proceedings on the merits regarding database infringement with an interest of 160 million euros

2020: representing a datacenter in a collective claim regarding intermediairy liability for illegal streaming

2020: represented an online marketplace in proceedings on the merits in a case regarding intermediairy liability for counterfeit

2020: representing an advertising agency in a case brought by a large online retailer for breach of contract and copyright infringement

2020: represented a German film production company in a seizure against its Dutch co-producers for breach of contract

2020: represented the Dutch Consumer Association (the Consumentenbond) in a misleading advertisement case against a large retailer before the Advertising Code Committee

2019: represented a dance DJ in preliminary relief proceedings against his record label for failure to comply with reporting obligations

2018: represented a rights organization in preliminary relief proceedings against a dance event

2016: represented various educational publishers in proceedings on the merits against a provider of tablet education regarding copyright infringement
