‘We first retained SOLV to help us draw up a manual for internal use on the protection of test results we publish for members only. The result was an admirable document, which we still often use internally.
We highly appreciate SOLV’s provision of prompt and hands-on services, addressing legal issues and day-to-day questions that need answering straightaway. We asked SOLV for its advice on our position in the debate about the government’s plan to ban downloading.
SOLV wrote an excellent memorandum on this issue, on which we based our view that it is impossible to implement a ban and protect consumers at the same time. Such a measure would have an adverse effect, with drastic consequences for consumers’ privacy. That is why we decided to take the position that the sector should not focus on hunting consumers, but rather on seducing them with new and innovative products and services.’
