Vita Zwaan is specialized in copyright law, e-commerce, privacy and freedom of speech.

Vita obtained her law degree at the University of Amsterdam (specialization Information Law). During her law studies she assisted on the ITeR study ´The concept of public access in the network environment". This study has been published in the ITeR series under the name "Public access in the internet environment: the influence of ICT on the juridical aspects of concepts of public access" (Openbaarheid in het internettijdperk: de invloed van ICT op juridische concepten van openbaarheid). Vita also contributed to the book "Personal Data Protection Act and ICT" (Wet bescherming persoonsgegegevens en ICT). Recently, Vita published an article in the Dutch Magazine for European Law (Nederlands Tijdschrift voor Europees Recht)regarding the European Court of Justice ruling with regard to the liability of Google for the use of its AdWord service.
